last minute instructions for the field (nearly oversold this year!)

yep, record heat yesterday....101!
heat index of about 110. we northerners
are just not used to that. so we sometimes
just pretend it's 40 below out and stay inside.

oh, and on sunday, many folks lost power due
to the heat. we lost ours for about and hour.
when gary called to tell me he couldn't get into
the house, i decided why go home now?
i stayed at my sister's and floated around some
more in the pool. the only place to be these days.

despite the heat, the miracle open went on as planned!
if you haven't already been to the web site, i encourage
you all to visit it today and often for updates and upcoming
events. this organization, a non profit, does some
mighty wonderful things for folks that have been thrown
into the pits of the various cancers of children.
the miracles of mitch foundation was founded on a
"pinky-swear" between steve and his son, mitchell.
that they would raise and give these families money to
cope with everyday expenses. no, this is not the kind
of foundation that raises money to cure these types of
cancer, they come along side and assist them in anyway
they can....food, mortgage payments, car payments,
vacations, night out etc...

only 18 days until the Miracle Kids Triathlon!!!

embrace the rain today!
