2 very -homesick for their parents- girls
practically crying at the window as they
watched for headlights of the car.
they couldn't stand still, they couldn't sit,
they would scream and jump up and down
with anxiousness....it was really more of
a video camera moment than a still camera!
yesterday was quite a day....
amanda went to jenny's and i cleaned all day!
i even made little toilet paper decorations in
their bathroom (like they do in some hotels)
all the laundry was done..i wanted for my
sister to not have to do anything right away
when they got home so they could just
enjoy the girls and dig out all the goodies
that they brought home for them.
(Ben called, he chose to come home from
his dad's today in stead)
emily stayed behind with me to help out.
she mostly watched animal planet but she
DID clean her room and wash her mom's van!
(her choice!)
we counted down all day.....
they're on the plane in fiji!... they're still in the air!
they'll land in LA soon!...
they've landed in LA....you get the picture! :)
about 2 or so nicki brought gemma & jessie over
as i had to go home and work for a bit in the
late afternoon. my mom came home around the
same time, everyone worked on the sign.
jessie stayed to help with the girls while i was
gone and then jenny brought amanda home.
to kill some time when i got back, i took the girls
for ice cream and then we worked on getting
the sign up on the garage! everyone helped,
even amanda!
anne & pete called, they landed early and would
be home in a 1/2 hour (so they thought)...
the girls went CRAZY!!!!! screaming, jumping,
inside, outside..it was a nut house for an hour!!
the plan was, when we saw the car, we would all
run into the garage and open the garage door,
(we had the only working opener) and come out
from under the sign!!!! good, right???
well, emily screamed, "it's really them, it's really
them this time!" and the girls both tore out the
front door, across the yard, into the driveway
and so fast that pete had to stop the car at the
end of the driveway so as not to run them over!!!!
emily went to dad's side...
& amanda to mom's.
just like I thought. :) daddy's girl and mommy's girl.
it was a moment like no other. what love.
the hugs went on and on and on.....so tight and so
long, and that was just me and mom
marking the end of out duties!! (kidding!)
i thought the girls would never let go.
then i said to the girls...
"see! I told you they'd be back in 20 minutes!"
think they'll miss me? :(
it ended like it started...hugging, kissing & crying!
this time tho', everyone was smiling! :)
..........welcome home.
